WHAT COMES AFTER POINTS?

Visible shape is the start.

This viewer shows two real stages: the downloaded point cloud and a surface reconstructed from those points.

  1. Point cloud READY

Measured positions and colors. Useful for visualization, sections, and checking modeled geometry.

  2. Surface mesh GENERATED

Poisson reconstruction connects nearby evidence into triangles. It can smooth detail and invent surfaces near gaps. This trimmed result is not guaranteed to be closed.

  3. Solid / CAD NEXT STAGE

Fit planes and curved surfaces, define thickness, close boundaries, and validate the result. A watertight mesh can represent volume; an editable STEP solid needs CAD geometry and topology.

  4. BIM / IFC MODELING + REVIEW

Identify walls, floors, doors, and windows; fit parametric objects; add relationships and properties. An IFC containing one generic mesh is not an editable semantic building model.

For this fragment, visible wall and floor patches are plausible modeling targets. Hidden thicknesses, complete room boundaries, materials, and structural function cannot be established from these points alone.
