The scan appears to describe a screw or auger with two interleaved flights. Its shaft axis, external diameter, and helical parameters were fitted to samples from the original STL.
New surface-fitted revision: independent local B-spline fits follow each measured spiral face and the shaft profile. The new report compares both revisions on held-out source facets. Hidden bore geometry and root interfaces remain partly inferred.
The 19,022,751-triangle STL is preserved without coordinate changes. The interactive mesh is a reduced derivative; it is not a 0.025 mm representation.
A smooth shaft and two constant-pitch flights form an idealized exterior. The export is validated as a CAD solid, not merely renamed mesh data. Internal cavities, tip cuts, welds, and wear are omitted. The Python generator preserves the parameters; STEP carries the resulting boundary representation rather than a CAD feature history.
An IfcBuildingElementProxy packages the reduced scan with millimeter units, identity, and provenance. It is usable as a reference object in a BIM workflow. The screw’s system role and installation relationships are unknown.
Deviation samples are taken from original STL vertices and compared with the CAD surface. The report is a sampled geometric check, not an exhaustive certification or an assessment of scanner calibration. Mesh reduction and geometric idealization can exceed the requested tolerance.
